John Sleadd

John and his wife, Arden, married in 1984 and have lived in Grants Pass, OR since 1995.  They have five children (Naomi, Nathan, Aaron, Alexa, Caleb), all home-educated.  John and Arden currently have nine grandchildren.  John became pastor of HOFGP in September 2007, and was formally ordained in January 2008. Prior to that John served as a church elder, Bible teacher, worship leader and seminar speaker.  John is bi-vocational, teaching a fifth-grade class at Highland Elementary.  John delights in God’s good gifts of marriage, family, art, music, woodworking, and conversation.  John loves preaching the gospel and coaching others to become effective, disciple-making ambassadors for Christ.

Colossians 3:16-17 has been a favorite family passage for the Sleadds. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” The family has produced an a cappella Christmas CD entitled “O Come Let us Adore Him”.
