Sleadds

John Sleadd is a teaching Elder and pastor of Household of Faith Community Church, Grants Pass (HOFGP). He is a founding member of Covered Bridge Family Ministries, a support organization for Christian homeschool families in Southern Oregon, and Clarion Forensics Speech Club. John became pastor of HOFGP (Coram Deo Church at that time) in September 2007, and was formally ordained in January 2008. Prior to that John served as church Elder, Bible teacher, worship leader, and camp and seminar speaker. John currently teaches public school in addition to pastoring at HOFGP. John and his wife, Arden, have five children, ages 13-21, all home-educated. The two oldest children have married and begun their own families.

Stroms

Ron Strom and his wife, Leanne, have two homeschooled daughters, Tianna, 17, and Ariel, 16. Married in 1986, the Stroms moved to Oregon from places south in 1998. Ron has enjoyed the fruit of leading both family worship in his home and family-integrated small groups. As a shepherd at HOFGP, he is committed to encouraging other families to grow in both faith and practice as multiple generations seek to serve God together.

Ron holds a Political Science degree and works as the commentary editor for WorldNetDaily.com. He also serves on the local Josephine County Budget Committee and the board of the Pregnancy Care Center of Grants Pass. Ron enjoys singing with his family and has been involved in leadership in local musical theatre.

McMurrays

Brad McMurray, his wife Robin and their children have lived in Grants Pass, Oregon since 2004. They have home schooled their children since 1998, including schooling their now-married daughter Colleen (20) through high school and shepherding her into marriage in 2008. Their two sons, Connor (14) and Calvin (7), continue to receive instruction and nurture in the home.

For the past 26 years, Brad has served the body of Christ in the areas of worship and music, small group ministry, adult equipping, preaching and other associate pastoral responsibilities. He has also taught at the university and high school levels. Brad is deeply committed to the fulfillment of the Great Commission to "make disciples of all nations. . ." He sees his family as his first discipleship responsibility.

The McMurray family is devoted to a family-integrated approach to life and ministry, promoting families serving together and family-friendly activities that involve all ages. “We are enjoying the blessings of God, seeing ever-deepening relationships in our own family, and a home where we are learning to experience peace, contentment and respect. We are excited about the fruit of family integration and discipleship we see through Household of Faith.” In equipping fathers to lead and strengthen families to minister together, they envision HOFGP as a transforming influence on our community and our culture.

Our Deacons

Deacon Steve Holst

Steve has been married to Anna, his wife for 21 years. He is the father of five children (Dillon – 19, Sarah – 17, Matthew – 13, Janelle – 11, and David – 7). He currently teaches science at Scenic Middle School in Central Point where he has been employed for the last 12 years.

Prior to that, he taught for several years at Grace Christian School. Before he and his family moved to Oregon in 1996, he served as principal/teacher of a parent-involved coop school, down in Southern California. Since moving up to Oregon, Steve and Anna have homeschooled their children. Steve also teaches science and math courses for homeschoolers, and has a passion to see God glorified through His creation.

Steve enjoys taking his family and others on outdoor adventures, including rafting, hiking, backpacking and camping. Every summer they are involved in an outreach to Japanese high school students in the Sierra Nevada mountains. He also enjoys teaching the word at HOFGP, a fellowship of saints who are like-minded and serious about serving God alongside their children.

Favorite verse: John 10:10b “But I have come that you may have life, and have it abundantly”. Steve’s greatest desire is to grow in experiencing the overcoming life of Christ in all he does, and to assist others in realizing this as well.
