Our 3-D DISTINCTIVES
Bible-Based Doctrine
Spirit-Filled Devotion
Missions-Minded Discipleship
“What kind of church are you?” visitors will often ask. Beyond the observations that we are a friendly bunch with an abundance of children, we are known by our 3-D Distinctives. We are shaped and driven by our connection to Bible-Based Doctrine, Spirit-Filled Devotion and Missions-Minded Discipleship. Here’s what we mean by these terms.
1. Bible-Based Doctrine
Biblical Truth, Sovereign Grace
We trust God as our Sovereign Lord, who saves us by grace. We desire transformation by the renewing of our minds in Christ. We treasure the Bible as God's sure and sufficient Word for all of life and godliness. We strive to teach the Scriptures in systematic and engaging ways that speak to each member of our age-integrated congregation so that the Word of Christ dwells in us. (see Rom. 12:2; Eph. 2:8-10; 2Tim. 3:16-17)
2. Spirit-Filled Devotion
Spirit-filled love of God, love for one another, and the pursuit of good works
We depend on the power and the joy of the Holy Spirit to turn our hearts fully to Christ. We feel we are most devoted to God when we are most delighted in Him. We believe the joy of the Lord transforms obedience into glorious, trusting adventure. We seek to show our love for God and for one another by investing our time, talents and treasures in the Kingdom of God on earth so that our light shines before men. (see Matt. 5:16; 1Cor. 3:16; 1Cor. 12:7; Gal. 5:22-23; Col. 3:16-17)
3. Missions-Minded Discipleship
Christ-centered, fruitful relationships for transforming lives
We desire to be a congregation of action in the world, living out the Gospel of Christ. We are passionate about making disciples in our homes and in our community. We strive to transform the culture by reaching out without selling out. (see Jn. 15:8; Eph. 6:4; Heb. 10:24-2; 2Cor. 5:20; Matt. 28:19-20)
